Welcome to Homegrown Connections!

We are currently taking a productive break as Lisa Murray (founder) works on a new initiative called the DSW Cooperative!

The DSW Cooperative (set to launch January 1st, 2018) is a unique response to the current crisis facing persons with Developmental Disabilities and their family members. Persons with developmental disabilities may need support from Developmental Services Workers (DSWs) to accomplish activities of daily living as well as meaningfully participate within their community. Unfortunately, to acquire this support, the current system either relies on individual workers who are working independently without professional back up, or on organizations that are more traditionally organized which provide a lack of individual ownership and decision making.

The DSW Cooperative will address this void by providing person centered supports within an organization that will allow the front line DSW workers the opportunity to drive the direction of the business, and enables these workers to become integral in all major decisions.

Within this model, families and individuals will have a place to turn to for ongoing support and guidance, backup workers and emergency services.

By addressing the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families, as well as the workers who support them, the DSW Cooperative will completely transform the way developmental services are provided in our community.
