Welcome to Homegrown Connections!

 

We are a non-judgemental, all inclusive organization that assists individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health disorders and their families or caregivers in making and keeping strong friendships and connections. Our goal is to provide a place for people to turn to for assistance in all areas of community building, life skills, and most importantly establishing relationships. Here's how it works:

 

1. Respite Connections: If you are an individual with a developmental disability or have a family member with a developmental disability and you are looking for some extra support, this is the place to turn. Once we chat a bit and get an idea of who you are and what you are looking for, then we do our best to match you up with workers whom we feel would be the best fit. You can check out our "Meet Our Workers" page if you would like to make requests.  Basically we act as a referral company. We do the work of interviewing the workers and checking their references, as well as ensuring all of their qualifications and background checks are in order. Once we have found you a match, we will provide you with their contact information and do our best to ensure a good match.

Please note: We do not pay our workers. You are required to discuss with and provide payment directly to your worker.

2: Overnight Respite: Lisa Murray (founder of Homegrown Connections) provides overnight respite within her home on an occasional basis. Please inquire for more details.

3. Job Training: If you or your family member are looking to gain valuable work experience either as a volunteer or in a paid position, we will do our best to help you out however we can. We will discuss your goals and aspirations and from there we will get started on the job application process. Once you or your family member has acquired a suitable and enjoyable position, we will assist you/them to learn the skills needed to be successful at that placement and stay with you/them as long as is needed.
